This is probably a common problem although I didn't see it on the FAQ list. Please email solutions to me and I will provide a summary to the list if there is any interest. I have OpenWindows 2 installed on my Sun 4/110. I wanted to install some things on my system that required Xmu and Xaw, so I compiled and installed them from the MIT sources (through patch 18). At run time I got "Warning: Widget class Form version mismatch (recompilation needed); widget 11004 vs. intrinsics 11003." errors. A usually reliable source (:-) tells me that the problem is a mix-up in Sun vs MIT Xt. What is the best solution for this - do I need to keep 2 versions of the library lying around? How about the .h files, they seem to differ as well. Thanks! Brian -- Brian Glendenning - National Radio Astronomy Observatory bglenden@nrao.edu bglenden@nrao.bitnet (804) 296-0286

I have never seen the source available anywhere (although that does not mean they are not). At least when I have similar problems with Motif, I just recompile the whole shooting match, and they go away. Granted, this isn't the greatest way to spend a day, but until X comes up with a better mechanism, I find this much better than keeping around two copies of the libraries. +---------+ | Coral | |@@@@@*@**| |@@*@@**@@| Don Dewar |*@@**@@@@| Coral Network Corporation, Marlborough, MA |@***@@@@@| Internet: don@coral.com |@@**@@@@@| Phone: (508) 460-6010 |*********| Fax: (508) 481-6258 |Networks | +---------+
