I should know the answer to this....but I don't.
I recently extracted xchrom ("chromocron") from comp.sources.x.
After changing all the "$" to "{" and adding the missing "}" (a bitnet
site must have munged the source), I compiled it and ran it. Running
it gets this warning:
Warning: Widget class Xchrom version mismatch:
widget 110004 vs. intrinsics 110003.
xchrom has its own widget (Xchrom), which seems to be the culprit. I know that
my X environment is up to date: libraries and include files are consistent
and are all X11R4. If I had to guess, I'd say that xchrom was written for
X11R3 and that there is some minor modification that I need to make to
get it to run properly under R4. What should I be looking for?
It also seems that xchrom can't tolerate arguments: xchrom -help will
make it core dump, for example (as will "xchrom -display ...").
Any clues? Mail me and I'll summarize.
