I have posted in net.sources my fix for cross posting from net.flame. It catches net.flame posted along with any other news group and edits the news groups to be just net.flame. This way downstream sites benefit even if they haven't installed the fix. I received 3 replies, all in favor. In fact one said just kill all such articles entirely. All postings on the net also seem to be in favor. It was suggested that the list of "exclusive" groups should be in a file (ala aliases) for easy modification. I don't see the need for this yet as we only have one such group. If net.general is also desired it is a trivial change to add it. I don't see this as the kind of thing that needs constant modification. Anyway it was easier this way and runs faster. The problem of binary only sites doesn't apply as the news software is distributed free to all sites. (Who usually don't install the latest version anyway.) Shall we wait and see if the flamers notice the change? Jerry Aguirre @ Olivetti ATC {hplabs|fortune|idi|ihnp4|tolerant|allegra|tymix}!oliveb!jerry
