I am looking for desktop publishing/ office automation software for Sun Unix: a word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and perhaps a database package that have a similar, intuitive user interface. I would like to find a set of software products that were, or looks as if they were molded from the same user interface concept, like that on the Mac, or the built-in software on the NeXT. They don't have to have the look-and-feel of the two listed above, but their appearance and use should be internally consistent, and they should be able to exchange data. They may or may not be produced by the same company. My first thought is that some Motif or Open Look products under the X11 windowing system might fit these requirements, but I don't know what is available and fully functional at this point. I am as interested in gathering evaluations and opinions based on experience with such products, as I am about getting a list of such products in the first place. I welcome any input concerning their ease-of-use, consistency of appearance, data interchangeability, and problems you may have encountered. Thanks very much, Mark Forrester mark@retina.mitre.org (703) 883-5750
