[comp.windows.x] Patchlevel 4 available for DIRT UI Builder on expo.lcs.mit.edu

rlh2@ukc.ac.uk (Richard Hesketh) (11/14/90)

I have placed the latest patch (patchlevel 4) for the Alpha.1 release of
the Dirt UI Builder on expo.lcs.mit.edu for ftp access. The patch is in:

	contrib/dirt.patchA1.4

cd to the top of Dirt distribution and patch using "patch -p < patch.file".

This patch fixes problems building Dirt under HP-UX and on Convex's plus
a few bugs found when setting resource values.

I have also changed the document in contrib/dirt.ps.Z NOT to use the built in
PostScript printer fonts. This should hopefully stop the problems people
have been having printing the document because it runs out of VM using these
fonts! If people still have problems please let me know.

----

A couple of other common questions about Dirt:

1) I cannot distribute Dirt via email, only by ftp. This is due to the fact
that the distribution is too big and would have to be split into ~60k
   chunks!

2) Currently when Dirt runs it displays the following type of warnings in the
   "Dirt Warnings" window:

No type converter registered for 'blah' to 'blah' conversion.

These are a "feature" of Dirt and can be safely ignored for the
   time being.

3) A dirt mailing list is being set up for users to swap information and for
me to send out patches and help. If you are interested in being put on
this list then email me directly until the list is up and running.
