I am developing a program which needs to display a map of a state or city given a set of coordinates. What I am looking for is the maps. What is available in the way of map images which can be displayed in X.

I have an xwd style topo map of San Francisco. If you can tell me what kind of maps you need, maybe I can ask some questions. I'm only a programmer, but I do work here at the survey. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregory Woodhouse |We know that the center of the earth gjw@andreas.wr.usgs.gov |is a fiery molten mass...but it's not (415) 329-4694 (office) |good to dwell on it. I'm actually not aware of any map dat available through FTP, but I hope to be able to ask some people in the mapping department tomorrow if anything is available. I work in seismology, so I really don't know (yet). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gregory Woodhouse |We know that the center of the earth gjw@andreas.wr.usgs.gov |is a fiery molten mass...but it's not (415) 329-4694 (office) |good to dwell on it.
