I'm looking for a dedicated chemical structure drawing program that runs under X. This could be either public domain or commercial. Some standards for MAC's and PC's are Chemdraw and Wimp. Would like to have support Sun, DEC, etc. I would also be interested in comments about the suitablity of existing tools such as xfig, tgif, and idraw for drawing chemical structures. Possibly a set of predefined macros? Application would be both for instruction and research. The *instructional* role tends to beg for a *dedicated pedagogic* program. I am not a chemist.
