When using vi in an xterm (on a Sun 3) with hardtabs and tabstop set to 4, I experience some really wierd bahaviour. It is hard to describe, but it seems the xterm and vi disagree as to where the characters are on the screen. The vi seems to think they are where should be and the xterm thinks they are where they would be hardtabs and tabstop set to 8 (the default). Or vice versa, it is hard to be sure. I've tried using the -cu option. Has anyone else encountered this ? Better yet, has anyone come up with a solution ? Angst --------------- A Man: "... no offense intended."
