wth@voyager.fokus.gmd.de (Stephan Wasserroth) (11/22/90)
After installing MIT X11R4.18 on Sun3 using gcc and on Sun4 using cc I am
trying to merge the resulting files in /usr/lib/X11 for both architectures.
A compare of both directories gave the following result for the .snf-font-files:
Most are identical (as I have expected), BUT the following eight fonts are
different: /usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc/{10x20 7x14rk 8x16rk}.snf,
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/{tech14 term14}.snf,
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/{luBS18 luRS18}.snf
Using showsnf revealed not in all cases the difference, but if a difference
id detected by showsnf, it is the value of "byteOffset".
What happens here? (The only difference I know is the compiler and the CPU-
architecture - but the .snf-files should be identical in all cases).
ThanX for any answer
