Xloadimage 2.02 is now available. It may be picked up by one of the following methods: - anonymous ftp from expo.lcs.mit.edu in /contrib/xloadimage.2.02.tar.Z for a full distribution or /contrib/xloadimage.2.02.patch.Z for a patch to 2.01. - from comp.sources.x as a patch to 2.01. - by email from jimf@saber.com as either a patch or a full distribution. if you want a full email distribution, be aware that the distribution is roughly one-half megabyte. Version 2.02 contains the following bug-fixes and enhancements: * low-level byte order conversion routines have been macro-ized for the most common case for dramatic speed improvements. * -onroot is now compatible with xsetroot. * Dithering and halftoning have been sped up somewhat. * RLE files now load on MSBFirst machines. * Window.c no longer double-paints in some circumstances. * Some XWD files that loaded with the wrong colormap will now load correctly. * G3 FAX files now load and are differentiated from MacPaint files. * A bug where servers whose depths were not 1 or multiples of 8 bits would not load images which used the default colormap was fixed. If you had color problems under 2.x and not under 1.6, this fixes the problem. * The default gamma value was changed to 1.0 as documented. * A simple normalization function, -normalize, was added. * A grayscale conversion function, -gray, was added. * An option to load the root weave, -default, was added.
