Hello world. I am having MAJOR problems in setting my font path to include new directories .. namely, if I do the following: xset +fp /tmp/ I get the following error message X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X_SetFontPath) Minor opcode of failed request: 0 Resource id in failed request: 0x0 Serial number of failed request: 4 Current serial number in output stream: 6 I tried writting my own Xlib program which uses the XSetFontPath call, but it still gives me the same thing. I asked around, and not 1 single soul knows why. Please help... BTW, I am running X11R4 on a Sun ... I don't need solution, I just need you to give me a list of possible reasons. Right now, I am totally baffled by this behavior. Again, my gratitude for the kind soul who can enlighten me. I am having MAJOR problems in setting my font path to include new directories .. namely, if I do the following: It sounds like you haven't run mkfontdir on the new font directories to create the required fonts.dir files. I'll agree that the X documentation is (uncharacteristically) vague about this. -- Douglas H. Becker doug@nmri.GE.COM {somewhere}!crdgw1.GE.COM!sane!doug
