Hello world. I am having MAJOR problems in setting my font path to include new directories .. namely, if I do the following: xset +fp /tmp/ I get the following error message X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 51 (X_SetFontPath) Minor opcode of failed request: 0 Resource id in failed request: 0x0 Serial number of failed request: 4 Current serial number in output stream: 6 I tried writting my own Xlib program which uses the XSetFontPath call, but it still gives me the same thing. I asked around, and not 1 single soul knows why. Please help... BTW, I am running X11R4 on a Sun ... I don't need solution, I just need you to give me a list of possible reasons. Right now, I am totally baffled by this behavior. Again, my gratitude for the kind soul who can enlighten me. It sounds like you haven't run mkfontdir on the new font directories to
create the required fonts.dir files. I'll agree that the X documentation
is (uncharacteristically) vague about this.
