[comp.windows.x] MacX and being impressed by it, or not

mouse@LIGHTNING.MCRCIM.MCGILL.EDU (12/16/90)

I think perhaps I owe Alan (Mimms, alan@apple.com) an apology. My
postings about MacX and its treatment of the mouse may have given the
impression that I think it's a worthless piece of trash. If so, I
would like to apologize - this is not true. I think it has problems,
which is entirely different (I don't think I've seen a piece of
software that *doesn't* have problems). Some of my own code has
problems comparable to those that I've been arguing with various
posters about for the past however long it's been.

I don't use a Mac, so I'm not in a position to appreciate it myself.
But I am glad such a thing exists. I may disagree with some of the
choices you/Apple made, but still, the MacX server is better, much
better, than none at all!
