[comp.windows.x] Xmh problems

jch@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu (Jeffrey C Honig) (05/06/88)

First:

Xmh as distributed with X11.2 hangs in file tocutil.c with the following
call:

	XWindowEvent( XtDisplay(label),
		      XtWindow(label),
		      ExposureMask, &event);

In a desperate attempt to get xmh working I commented out this call and
now everything seems to work!?! Does anyone have a proper fix for this?

Second:

Xmh does not let me read mail in the initially selected folder. If I
change the initial folder with the -initial flag I can read my inbox,
but not the initially selected one. Anyone have a fix or other workaround?

Third and last:

I should have read the man page first, but I was disappointed to learn
that Xmh does not support subfolders, which I rely on heavily. Has
anyone hacked subfolder support into Xmh?

Is there a patch to xmh which fixes the following problem? If I have
a large, multi-page folder I can scroll to the last page where the
list widget suddenly displays the first page instead and the scroll
bars disappear. Any ideas? I've tried a number of copies of xmh and
I also tried replacing libXaw.*.
