[comp.windows.x] shX and critical applications

neideck@jove.pa.dec.com (Burkhard Neidecker) (12/20/90)

After receiving some mail from people that want to use the
shX software for critical applications, the following note is on order:

shX is highly experimental software and *definitely not* designed
to be used in an environment where health and life of humans is
dependent on the correct and reliable function of software.
Reliability and dependability was *NOT* the prime goal in the
  development of shX.

We strongly discourage anybody from using it for such purposes.

  From the shX manual:

ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS, IN NO EVENT SHALL
DIGITAL BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR
ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER RESULTING FROM LOSS OF USE, DATA OR PROFITS,
WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE OR OTHER TORTIOUS ACTION,
ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OR PERFORMANCE OF THIS
  SOFTWARE.
