[comp.windows.x] xfed and other misc. questions.

There is mention in the FAQ list of a font editor. I have not been able to
find it anywhere. Anyone have a clue on this one? I believe it was called
xfed.

Is there a way to do an xsetroot when using tvtwm and the Virtual desktop?
More importantly, to use something like xbgsun to display a Sun Raster
instead.

I've seen this asked, but have yet to see a reply... Is there an easy way to
convert Sun Icon format to XBM? I'm sure using several of the PBM+ filters
would do the trick, but one would think that there is a small little C program
out there to do the job more efficiently.

Last, but not least: I know that the sequence to put a string in one's title
bar (on [tv]twm at least) is M-]0;<string>C-g but are there other sequences
similar to those found on Suns that will change:

	- The icon
	- Position of the window
	- open/close the icon
	- etc...

Many thanks in advance...

xfed should be available in the contributed part of X11R4.
[X11R4 source directory]/contrib/clients/xfed/

If you need one that handles two-byte-per-character fonts, look in
[X11R4 source directory]/contrib/clients/mlx/

Xfed is available for anonymous ftp on unido.informatik.uni-dortmund.de
(129.217.64.60) as file /pub/windows/X/Diverse-X11-Sourcen/xfed.tar.Z.

However, at the moment the host is not accessible for anonymous ftp. Please
wait until the situation changes.
