[comp.windows.x] Summary of Touch X terminal responses

wendy@sunquest.UUCP (Wendy Debray) (01/11/91)

A while ago I posted a message asking about touch screen interfaces for X
Terminals. I received some responses, here is a summary of them. Thank you
to all who replied.

None that I know of; but there is a product called XTouch which does what you want. It's advertised in the back of UnixWorld and Digital Review, I think.
I've also used a touch screen, possibly that product, with X on a 386/ix.
This was hosted by Interactive, so you might check with them.

We, ie. Labtam, offer a 19" inch Surface Acoustic Wave touch screen option
on the Xengine terminals. I am not sure about other sizes, please ask.
Unfortunately we do not market in the USA yet, but maybe I can answer
technical questions?

I was talking to a guy from Tektronics today who happened to mention that
a company called Trident Data Systems was a major reseller of their
terminal in the government market. One of the reasons for this was that
they equipped them with touch screens.

note: Trident Systems (703) 273-1012 offers XTouch, a touch screen solution.
Currently, they have interfaced with Tektronix X terminals.
