[comp.windows.x] Any good X Books?

aipdc@castle.ed.ac.uk (Paul D. Crowley) (01/11/91)

X is impossible. So are the X manuals. The _commands_ are described,
but the ideas are not. So, for example, I have no idea what the
difference is between X and a window manager like motif or twm. Or what
a widget is. Are there any good books on how to use and program in X?

And are there any in the budget of a student?

Apologies if this is an FAQ, but there doesn't seem to be an FAQ
posting.

Thanks in advance.
