I asked this question a few days ago and didn't get any response so
here it goes again..
We are running X11R4 patch level 18 compiled with gcc 1.37.1 on a a
micro-Vax II gpx (qdss) running Ultrix 3.1 and are experiencing problems
with xterm when using our modems via "tip". The problem is that when the
modem uses even parity (and it usually does), xterm cannot correctly print
those characters with their most significant bits set. When connected to
the remote system via "tip" on an xterm, the keyboard appears to generate
the correct sequence to send and the remote host appears to respond to the
request, but xterm garbles both my input and the remote output on the display.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this problem?
I have tried using the same type of modem on a SUN 3/160 running X11R4 and
I did not experience any problems.
Thanks for any help you can offer,
