[comp.windows.x] Is it my window?

This may seem like a strange question but is their any reliable way to
determine if a window ID is one that my application created as opposed to
one that some other client created?  Browsing through the dix code revealed
this CLIENTOFFSET shift that appears to isolate a client id.  I couldn't find
a protocol description of the format of a window ID other than that it is a
32 bit value.  So is it possible?  Can I use this client id or is their
some other portable mechanism to know if a window ID is one that my client
created?
