[comp.windows.x] Query regarding XIE, PIK

I am looking for some information on the description and
the availability of 

a) the X Imaging Extension (XIE) to provide imaging 
   capability under X windows,

b) the Programmer's Imaging Kernel (PIK).

Does anyone know about the API developed by Sun called SunlPlib?
