[comp.windows.x] X Graph Viewer

stealth@nanometrics.portal.UUCP (Steve Sabram) (02/01/91)

Does anyone out there know of a public domain of
shareware graphing package?? All we want to do
is plot some 2D data on a screen and maybe do some
windowing of the plots?? I'd like the source so I
can port it to my Apollo. Things like PV~Wave would
be massive overkill.

Here's a list of X drawing and plotting programs. Sorry I haven't got
more info on them. They are all available from various uucp archives
(such as uunet). They are mostly available by anon ftp, but not having
that kind of access, I don't pay much attention to the ftp addresses.

gnuplot X, PostSscript and a bunch of other drivers. Not FSF
gl_plot X output only
graph+
tgif Interactive, with PS output.
xgraph-11
pdraw 3D X, PS
drawplot	2D X, PS
xifg A drawing program, as opposed to plotting.

As an addendum:

	drawplot:	pretty limited but OK
tgif: kick ass, but a drawer not a plotter as suggested by Geoff
pdraw: cannot find this - can anybody locate this?

Good list. I have filled it out a bit from information from
comp.archives. Additional stuff not in your list is at the end, so
keep reading. The list gets pretty long with lots of details, so I
haven't put in blurbs. Notably missing from your list is "idraw".
