We are considering deploying an X-based application to a large number of users but a primary requirement is that the application be available from existing hardware/software systems. On IBM PClones, MS Windows 3 is used along with appropriate applications such as Word for Windows, Excel and Powerpoint. On Macs we use Word and Excel. We have very few actual Unix systems and not many of them are in the hands of end-users. In addition to being available from existing platforms, a major requirement is that users be able to cut and paste text and graphics between the X application and the existing personal computer applications. So far we have tested Xvision and X11/AT for the PClones. Xvision only allows cut and paste of text. X11/AT testing is not yet complete. Are there any other X servers for PClones that run under MS Windows and support cut and paste of text and graphics between Winapps and Xapps? How about for Macintosh?
