[comp.windows.x] Immediate quit?

devin@samwise.Colorado.EDU (Yampalimardilor) (02/12/91)

I have an application that uses a Timeout event to do successive XPutImages.
(This is for animation of time series, usually.) If the machine is running
slowly, then the events build up in the event queue and pressing the quit
button or adjusting a speed slider doesn't have any effect for a while.
Is there a way to make events from the button or slider have a higher priority
or some such so that they move to the head of the event queue? Similar
effects by any method is fine - and this piece of code has its own MainLoop
(I split up XtAppMainLoop so that I can do some things in between.) which
uses XtAppProcessEvent(). If changing this will do it, fine.

Any ideas? Advthanksance.
