[net.news] USENET frowning upon graphics in si

If you'd like another argument in favor of notesfiles, once you write a note
you automatically are shown what you just wrote. (There is one exception,
but I'd bet most notesfiles readers don't even know about it.) If you don't
like what you see, you can just type E to edit it.

I don't see any reason for the .signature file 'feature' to exist at all.
It just seems to add more noise to the net signal/noise ratio.  "Notes"
users get by just fine without this 'feature.'  It's not difficult to type
in a return path, or to suck a file with one into an editor buffer if it's
needed.  Having it done for you automatically only encourages you to have
useless quotes, long return paths, etc. tacked on.  Even worse, many
postings have the .signature included two (or more) times.  I'd be quite
happy to see the 'n line' limit set to 0.
