Well, the votes for/against net.bizarre seem to have trickled out. The official vote count is: Nuke net.bizarre: 25 Keep net.bizarre: 9 7 people suggested that mod.bizarre be created; everybody who suggested a moderator thought Bob Nebert (bobn@bmcg.UUCP) should do it. 1 person thought that net.bizarre should be relegated to a mailing list, but did not suggest a coordinator or home site for such a list. The 24 against does not match up with the 40-50 people currently required to create a newsgroup; on the other hand, the 9 people who voted to keep the newsgroup doesn't either. There doesn't seem to be any precededent set yet, so I guess now we can all discuss what the votes mean :-). Thank you, and have a pleasant tomorrow, Qux P.S. If people feel strongly about the matter, I will mail to them (or maybe, but it's unlikely, post to the net) the usernames attached to the votes, by way of validating the vote count. If people feel strongly about having their name attached to a vote, then maybe it's time to discuss not only who deserves to vote, but whether or not Usenet should be operating on a secret ballot system.
