What is XGL ? these are the only information I have: - It is probably a product of SUN which run under X. - It is also called Sun Graphics Library. XGL was designed to complement the graphics standards interfaces PHIGS and GKS. Sun designed XGL to penetrate new graphics markets and to meet the needs of large classes of application software vendors moving to X11. XGL was designed with an object-orientation in mind, to allow for future extensibility. It is a (relatively) feature-rich graphics interface providing immediate-mode capability, separate 2D and 3D primitives, and multiple data and coordinate systems. Sun publishes a technical white paper on XGL, which I'm sure you can get from your local sales office.

Any relation to the 4GL libraries Sillicon Graphics has for its
personal iris. I have been hearing that IRIS will have their
graphics libs in X and they already use the NeWS server.
