I'm trying to set up a low-volume, low-usage (maybe 1 user) news feed at a Eunice site. I only got 2.10.3 running on my site with some difficulty. I have no desire to SA the Eunice site as well. Eunice comes with "news(1)", a Bill Joy-written variant of msgs, that looks like it can handle a limited amount of news traffic with less flexibility. I can't find reference to it in any of my 4.1 or 4.2 manuals, but their are some mock aliases in /usr/lib/aliases. If I wanted to feed, say, 4 or 5 newsgroups via uucp mail, would this news(1) do the job? If so, how? Alternately, how hard is it to run 2.10.3 netnews on Eunice? Joel West CACI, Inc. The hacking was done by Chip Rosenthal (t12tst!chip), and I've contributed some bug fixes. It works, but it's not ideal. This site runs Eunice v3.2, which runs under version 3.x VMS. Wollongong botched the VMS V4 conversion badly, and still hasn't succeeded in getting UUCP to work on a VMS V4.x version of Eunice (if this has changed and they haven't notified me, then they are botching the software support). Conclusion: if the Eunice site is running VMS V4, you are out of luck. Otherwise perhaps I can help. -- Joe Buck | Entropic Processing, Inc. UUCP: {ucbvax,ihnp4}!dual!epicen!jbuck | 10011 N.
