Hi, I am new to this group and also to X windows I have a weired problem when i run emacs on x windows The problem is as follows: Emacs does not pick up any file in the working directory unless i give the entire path with it, even though the file exists in that dir.It will give me a blank emacs window and then i ll have to type ^x^f to get the desired file. eg: i am in /home/me/dir1/dir2 and there is a file called f2 in that dir. if i type emacs f2 it will give me a blank window. One more thing, even if i am in some dir. other then home dir. , emacs will pick up files from home dir which are not even present in that dir. eg: in the /home/me/dir1/dir2 , if i type emacs .cshrc (which exists in my home dir.) it will pick it up!! Does any body habve any idea why this is happening and what could be the possible cure to it??? Please help, i would really appreciate it. Thanx in advance manoj
