Hello netland ! I've seen many requests about the availability of widgets to present graphs, bar charts, pie charts, etc, but it seems that there is nothing out there. Judging from the number of requests, ther MUST be a tremendous need for such widgets. I'm sure somebody could make a lot of money by developing a commercial widget set. (Be fair, we cannot expect it to be PD.) There are many spreadsheets with excellent graphs, and I'm sure that their graphics stuff can be ported to Xlib/Xt. I believe that Microsoft made some of their EXCEL graphics stuff available to another company which develops a signal analysis package. Have you seen "Graphics Server" from Pinnacle Publishing Inc. ? It's server which can create graphs and charts from data sent from a client application. It currently runs on MSW and PM, but I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to port it. I know about DataViews, but that's not what I want. Is there anybody out there who can convince somebody to develop such a widget set ? If you do, ask them if they can add some interactive capabilities. I'd like to be able to zoom and pan graphs. Also, real-time updates would be useful.
