[comp.windows.x] MacX via 9600 baud line

rgonzal@elbereth.rutgers.edu (Ralph Gonzalez) (02/15/91)

Sorry, this has probably been asked before:

Could someone tell me whether I will be able to run the MacX server on
my Mac II connected to a Sun running an X client, where the connection
is via 9600 baud wire? That is, I don't have an ethernet or localtalk
connection.

Thanks!

You're quite right. In fact, I was asked this question FOUR TIMES
YESTERDAY. (That's unusual, but you might get the correct impression
that LOTS of people want this.)

If I were Apple (which I am not, but would love to be as rich as), I would be
working on something to let people do this. I hope to get it stuck in the
feature set for a future release of MacX, if it's at all possible...

I am sorry it isn't there now, but there is always something new to do...
