[comp.windows.x] F1 Key under DECwindows Ultrix 4.0 and color icons under Mwm

Does anybody know how to stop the X server under Ultrix 4.0 from binding the
F1 Key to a hold screen function. I need to use the key for something else...

Also, on a color server many of the DECwindow icons, such as dxcalendar and
dxmail, loose the pixmap and functionality. Is there a resource that will
allow Mwm to use icon pixmaps greater than 1 bit deep...

It isn't the server that is doing this, but either the Ultrix keyboard driver
itself or worse, possibly something even lower than that (rom?)
I have not found any way to disable this "feature" that DEC has so thoughtfully
provided for us :-)

I don't speak for LBL; they don't pay me enough for that.

I'm using twm with the Ultrix 4.1 server (and dxsession) on a DS 5000. F1
on my system does a f.raise, just like I asked it to in my .twmrc. What
window manager are you using?

The original poster didn't say which machine he was using, but I assumed it was
acting the same way our VS2000's do. The color version uses the F1 key for
"hold screen" even in single-user mode, and there doesn't appear to be a way
to get around that EVEN USING twm, which is the window manager I use.
It only seems to be this way on the color version of the 2000 - the monochrome
machine that we have exhibits no such behaviour.
