Does anyone have any experience porting the MIT sample sever to Sun's GS graphics board? Anyone have a general idea as to the difficulty of this? We are considering the GS (instead of the GX) to do our PEX work since it has hardware to do 3-D things like gouraud shading... Our big issue is whether or not we will be able to port the MIT sample server. I'm assuming that the basic frame buffer code will be the same (until I hack it up), and I will just have to write a cg???.c (I think it is cgtwelve) in mit/server/ddx/sun. Am I underestimating this effort? Any feedback on this is more than welcome. We need to make a decision on this soon. I want to get the faster hardware, but I can't afford to spend a lot of time on it. Please e-mail, if possible. If not, call me (collect if you need to).
