According to the FAQ, a sample PEX implementation is supposed to be available in early 1991. Does anyone have any info about when in 91 it will be (or is) available? Also, where will it be available from? (and for how much?) Also, giza.cis.ohio-state.edu and zok seem to have PEX directories, but all they seem to have are documents (giza has V3.20 documents). Are these current? or is Sun working off of their own spec, and the official spec will later be made to look like it? Would someone please answer my questions? You can mail me the info, and I will post a condensed summary of the information. According to the FAQ, a sample PEX implementation is supposed to be available in early 1991. FAQ is not up to date, sorry. A sample PEX implementation will be available to X Consortium members in early 1991. It will be released to the public as part of X11R5. Does anyone have any info about when in 91 it will be (or is) available? A Beta implementation is already in the hands of X Consortium members. A "First Release" to members should occur in February. The date for X11R5 has not been made public; probably I will make it public sometime in January, perhaps at the X Conference. Also, where will it be available from? (and for how much?) As part of R5, through the normal channels. Probably its inclusion will drive the price of R5 up a bit more (all those bits :-). Also, giza.cis.ohio-state.edu and zok seem to have PEX directories, but all they seem to have are documents (giza has V3.20 documents). Are these current? The current document is V5.0P. It is available on expo.lcs.mit.edu in pub/PEX/. is Sun working off of their own spec, and the official spec will later be made to look like it? No. You can mail me the info, and I will post a condensed summary of the information. You expect that many authoritative answers?
