[comp.windows.x] Xwindow to color PostScript converter needed

RS0XEG@ROHVM1.BITNET (Edward Greer) (02/23/91)

I need something which will capture an Xwindow and turn it into color
PostScript, preferably encapsulated color PostScript. I have all kinds
of great visualization tools running under X, but I can't figure out how
to make COLOR hardcopy to my handy network color printers.

I'm running AIX 3.0 (X11R3) on an IBM RS/6000.
Please reply by email, not by posting. I don't usually read all these
groups.

Thanks,

Ed Greer

First you need pbmplus. Then you should be able to do...

xwd | xwdtoppm | ppmtops > psfile

window dump to portable pixmap to postscript file.

I don't have a color postscript printer, so I could not test this, but
it should work
