We are writing applications which will eventually run on several different kinds of workstations, but are now being developed on SPARCstations. Is the OpenLook widget set available for other machines (say DECstations)? If so, who sells it? Or is it wiser to switch to Motif just to maintain portability? Thanks in advance. -Arun

The OLIT code originates at USL and is available from AT&T and from a number of (other) Unix International companies. You may want to contact Joanne Newbauer (OPEN LOOK product manager, jo@attunix.att.com) for information on licensing and availability. > Or is it wiser > to switch to Motif just to maintain portability? OLIT runs (currently) on various architectures (386, SPARC, 68xxx, 3B2) and systems (i.e. at least current flavors of HP/UX, SunOS and SVR4.) I know of no reason why it would not port easily to VMS, but I don't know off-hand of any current product offerings in that context. I will offer you no words of "wisdom" :-) -- Michael L.
