I have worked with "pure" MIT X11R4 and HP X11 for the past year or so on an HP 375 Workstation. A new project I am heading up will be using Sun IPC Workstations. What kind of "includes" and X11 lib type files come with the Sun and which ones do NOT come with OpenWindows/XView? My real question is how much will be different, i.e. can I start writing code now and then move it over to the Sun? Or will things be significantly different ? Also, HP in their documentation, tell how to go "mouseless". The mouse is mapped to the keypad to perform mouse functions. The industrial application I will be developing (porting Data General Mini-Computer code) in an enviroment where few mouse functions will be used. Space and work conditions don't permit a mouse. But we do want to have popup help screens and menus. The Sun rep says you can not go mouseless yet. We mostly do mainframe and mini work so at present I am chief cook and bottle washer (no Unix Guru help, just me). -- Steve Kroeker Internet: skroeker@gmuvax2.gmu.edu Fairfax, Virginia
