[comp.windows.x] KHOROS

david@sig.ee.ic.ac.UK (David Sayed) (12/13/90)

Hi all:

Is there an FTP site for Khoros in the United Kingdom?

        Thanks,

                David.

I recently saw a demonstration of the image processing
package KHOROS from New Mexico. I was wondering if
anyone could tell me what's the current status of
the package (i.e. - is it available by anonymous ftp, and
if so, where) and if there have been any updates, new
releases?

Thank you!

Eric

There was an announcement in this news group dated 11 Dec 90.

I ftp'ed khoros from pprg.unm.edu and got it running on a Sun Sparc1+
under OpenWIndows. It is a very impressive package.

The version I got was v 0.9 - a beta release. I don't know if there have been
any changes. Since this is a beta version, there are some rough edges and
missing pieces. However, it compares quite favorably in its quality
and completeness to much commercial software.

The part that I like best is the graphical dataflow programming interface
for defining complex image processing operations.
