[comp.windows.x] Control-Mouse mode menus

glosson@mdtf12.fnal.gov (Rich Glosson) (03/14/91)

I have just upgraded a couple of my SPARCstation 1's from SunOS 4.0.3 -> 4.1.1.

The problem I'm having is that when I bring up the Control-Mouse mode menus,
all three menus seem to be the old menu list, as seen with X11 release 3, but
I'm running release 4. When I open a xterm session on a remote system which
is running 4.0.3 from a system running 4.1.1, I still see the old menus, but if
I then run a xterm session from the remote system, I then get the new menus.

What I would like to find out is what happens, more specifically, what files
are accessed or invoked in the background when you start an xterm session?
One of these files must contain the Control-Mouse mode menus. By the way, all
my systems run the same xterm executable which is on a system running 4.1.1.

I'm also seeing some problems when I try to run xcalc from a system running
4.1.1, but is fine when run from a system running 4.0.3. Again, all my systems
run the same xcalc executable.
