[comp.windows.x] Xsun -mono won't work

lapresto@jubjub.shs.ohio-state.edu (Eric LaPresto) (03/20/91)

Help! I'm trying to use the Xsun -mono option on my Sun 4/150 console
with a cgtwo board, but everytime I invoke this command the X server
crashes and leaves my keyboard a mess. I've heeded the man page for
Xsun and disabled the GP2 graphics coprocessor, but the -mono option
always causes this crash. I can invoke xinit just fine with the
command:

	% xinit -- /usr/local/bin/X11/Xsun -dev /dev/cgtwo0 :0

but as soon as I add the -mono option, I have trouble.

Is there a patch or fix for the -mono option? I need to run this
color workstation in monochrome mode for a particular application.
My apologies if this question has been posed before.

BTW, I'm using X11R4, running SunOS 4.0.3c.

Thanks!

Eric
