I am about to start a short investigation to answer the following: Suppose that the X server could process request in zero time. Suppose that the client can generate the request in zero time. What would be the maximum obtainable xstones over ethernet? I am curious if anyone has done this or has opinions on this. I know lots of people will write to ask what the question is. Well, it is a crude attempt at the following: How fast can one make a network station before one runs in to the network bandwidth limitation - specially when the operations are output intensive. I will summarize the responses if there is interest. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>> Hamid R.
