[comp.windows.x] X11R4 installation problem

fab9452@tamsun.tamu.edu (Allan Bailey) (04/01/91)

I've just installed X11R4 on our Sun 4/490 SunOS 4.1.1

Running xinit and such produces the following warning messages:

Warning: Cannot convert string "flagup" to type Pixmap
Warning: Cannot convert string "flagdown" to type Pixmap

Has anyone else had this problem, and does anyone know what is causing
it? Of course, a solution would be much appreciated.

The problem is most likely that you are trying to run xbiff which uses
the X11 bitmaps flagup and flagdown. You don't have the necessary links
set up it.../usr/include/X11/bitmaps should contain the necessary files.
Now, this is probably going to be a link the new X11R4 include files. Maybe
that is what you have forgotten.
