Can anyone enlighten me as to what Motif 1.1 changes from Motif 1.0 aside from x11r4 support? We were about to go out and buy the Prentice-Hall OSF/Motif books and I was wondering if we should wait for the V1.1 manuals or not. Thanks. Also, if there another source for OSF/Motif docs? art stine abstine@clvms.clarkson.edu -- Art Stine Sr Network Engineer Clarkson U ABStine@CLVMS.Clarkson.Edu

Does anyone have any idea when or if Interactive Systems will release Motif 1.1 in the near future ?

Would somebody out there share his/her knowledge of the Motif 1.1 particularly in the area of its National Language Supports(NLS); does it provide any kind of foreign language input methodes? does it allow more than one code page to facilitate applicatons that display mixed language? how about multi-byte languages? and most importantly, when will it be generally available? --Mike

Background : I am using Motif 1.1 and I need a window with 2 text edit widgets. One widget is MULTI_LINE_EDIT mode and the other one is a SINGLE_LINE_EDIT mode. Both text widgets must be able to trap the TAB key and insert spaces to the next tab stop. Tab stops may be set up at any column position (not necessarily at every "x" positions). The way Motif handles the TAB key normally for a SINGLE_LINE_EDIT widget is that it goes to the next TAB group. For a MULTI_LINE_EDIT text widget the TAB key tabs over a specific amount of spaces. Questions : 1. Can I change the translation procedure for the TAB key for each of the individual text widgets? If so, how? 2. Is there a way to set specific column positions as TAB stops in the text widget? If so, how? Thanks, Julie Whitson Please reply to uunet!melpar!whitson
