Once again, kterm 4.1.2 is a modified version of xterm that supports display of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text in a number of different encodings. Chinese, Japanese, and Korean X11 fonts for use with kterm are available from crl.nmsu.edu [128.123.1.14] in directories pub/chinese/fonts/, pub/japanese/fonts, and pub/korean/. Some of the things fixed in this beta (patchlevel 6) are: Tabs and carriage returns are preserved in selections (this may go away in the release version because of problems found with cutting and pasting between a number of editors) Problems with font type determination fixed A problem with use of color sequences that caused core dumps fixed A problem with single shifted JIS X0201 (single byte Kana) fixed The Japanese manual page has been updated. Thanks to John Melby of Fujitsu, Peter Wisnovsky of Sharebase, and Ed Greshko of CDC for helping me out by being patient while I slowly fixed problems they found! A kludge for DEC Kanji JIS X0201 (single byte Kana) strings may appear in release version, but I'm not sure about this yet. kterm 4.1.2 will be posted to comp.sources.x in the near future if no more significant bugs are found in the meantime (approximately 2 weeks). Please don't hesitate to report any wierd behaviors, bugs, core dumps, or whatever :-) Just send me email and I'll fix the problem ASAP. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- mleisher@nmsu.edu "I laughed.
