I'm having a strange problem with X11R4 on my DECstation 5000 running Ultrix 4.1... This box used to be a 2100 with a 1-bit monochrome screen, but is now a 5000 with a color adapter and grayscale monitor. The only thing changed is device support in the OS kernel, and that I'm now running Xcfbpmax instead of Xmfbpmax. I'm using tvtwm as my window manager. The problem: When I move the pointer around, from window to frame to desktop to icons etc, it sometimes (say one out of every 5 changes) either disappears (becomes invisible) or is just partially drawn. Thus, I may move the pointer from a window onto the desktop, and then just see about half of the "X" cursor. It seems entirely random when this happens, and how much (from just a pixel or two to the whole thing) disappears.
