[comp.windows.x] massive problems with spurious events in tvtwm

mike@ap542.uucp (Mike Hoffmann) (04/11/91)

I have a problem with tvtwm that is driving me up the walls.

(I've checked: the following does not occur when I use any other WindMgr,
like mwm or ancient uwm, and is independant of the server (rel 3 or 4) )

I get annoying spurious events, mostly mouse-button clicks that never really
happened, when moving the cursor around the screen. The effect is menus
being brought up and then clients being started that I don't want, or cut's
and paste's suddenly happening in some window (which can be desastrous if
you have something like rm -fr * in your buffer :-( )

I thought it might be a defect mouse, but exchanging it didn't help.
I tried a different X-terminal all together, to no avail.

I'm pretty desperate as I have no way of finding out if the problem isn't
in the server itself after all.
