We have a VGA card and monitor which claims to be able to support 256 simultaneous colors. But using Microsoft Windows 3 and VisionWare's X-Vision server, we only seem to see 16 simultaneous colors. What we want to do us use X-Vision to run UNIX X clients that display 256 colors. Has anyone out there accomplished this? Are there settings in Windows 3.0 that allow you to run with 256 simultaneous colors? Other than this shortcoming, I'm pretty impressed with VisionWare's pretty seamless interface to Microsoft Windows. Thanks. --Tim

You need X/Vision 3.1 or 4.0 to get 256 colours. Version 3.0 only supported 16 colours. dj@micromuse.co.uk
