When we run the makewhatis - either std or modified by Sun - on the
man pages provided with the above two X distributions we find a lot of
problems with the results. For instance, when I do a
make -k resource
I get things like the following - only as long lines:
here's no distinguishable difference between a flattened widget interface and
a traditionally-composed interface. From the programmer's
perspective, flattened widgets have a different interface than
traditional widgets or gadgets. A single toolkit request can specify
an arbitrary number of primitive graphical user interface components
and about 20 lines more. I also get things like:
OlGetApplicationResources
.TH \*(x} These are the resources of the Core class, of which
all widget classes are subclasses. They are described here to avoid
repeating their descriptions for each widget.
Will the various man pages be updated for R5? Does anyone have the
patches for the various problem pages available?
