Hi! I have been trying to compile xps to preview postscript files on our system. After compiling xps on our Pyramid BSD4.3 environement we had no problems except that when xps starts up it says. "typecheck in put" before the prompt. Speaking of the prompt...patch #3 puts the definition for prompt after its usage in the executive loop. I fixed that just by moving it in front of executive. There seems to be a bunch of postscript it doesn't understand. The INSTALLATION file says to define POSTSCRIPTLIB to wherever the postscript library was. I assumed they meant the postscript directory under the xps root directory. then it says to type >PS (some arguments) and I did. I think it meant you to type ./source/xps first and wait for the prompt. After seeing the message 'typecheck in put' I started getting kind of leary. The next thing I tried was typing PS 'some demo stuff' (not literally) and it said undefined operator PS then I tried something simple like maybe 'showpage' and it said the same thing. What am I missing here? I guess there could be a startup script that I'm missing. I havent done much postscript so sorry if this sounds lame.
