[comp.windows.x] Compiling server/ddx/sun/sunKbd.c under SunOS 4.1

drl@vuse.vanderbilt.edu (David R. Linn) (04/30/91)

I've held off on compiling and installing MIT X11R4 patchlevel 18 for some
months in order to avoid the widget version mismatch problems but must now
go ahead with it in order to bring up Motif. I compiled and installed
X11R4p11 under SunOS 4.0 (and HP-UX 6.5) but I'm now working under SunOS 4.1
and sunKbd.c now gives a warning. Apparently HOLE was redefined between
SunOS 4.0 and SunOS 4.1 and, in fact, I vaguely remember some mention of
this on this list. Apparently HOLE used to be less than 256 but is now
equal to 770 which is *always* larger than the unsigned char against which
it is being compared. Is there a standard fix for this problem?

Please reply by e-mail.

	Thanks,
	 David
