I have a Motif programming question that maybe someone can answer: When posting a message box or file selection box (XtManageChild), is there a way to synchronously get the reply or callback info (ie, a button press or file selection) without having to use a callback routine? I'm converting code which was not designed for asynchronous operation and it would be very complicated to have to use callbacks. If there's no way around callback routines, is it feasable to fork the XtManageChild and somehow have a child process post the box and handle the callback?
